HIGHFIELD ON HORSEBACK GREAT RIDING HOLIDAYS IN CUMBRIA |
Riding over 300 acres of privately owned farmland, popping the odd cross country fence whenever you wish and enjoying the safe, rural environment of Highfield Farm is the basis for a Great Riding Holiday in Cumbria. Stabling for your horse will be in the well-managed livery yard on the farm and includes bedding, hay or haylage, feed and mucking out. Turnout is also available and there is a horsewalker. Supplements, if fed, should be brought with you. There is ample parking for cars, trailers and lorries in the main farmyard. Plan to enjoy the 4-mile farm ride that takes you around a specific route passing wooded areas, open pasture and along farm tracks, with optional cross country jumps along the way. Gates are all 'rider friendly' and the ride clearly marked. The cross country course is solidly built and offers a variety of fences for schooling. Click on Cross Country Course for more information. There is also an all weather surface and a showjumping paddock and Julie Gaitskell, BHSII Regd Instructor offers lessons in flatwork, showjumping and cross country technique. A successful horse trials competitor and producer of young event horses, Julie is an effective teacher and will help to develop confidence in both horses and riders. Here at Highfield we can tailor make your holiday to suit your needs. weather it be a group holiday with a club or individual riders wanting to brush up on your skills. Accommodation for riders is either '4-star' Farmhouse B&B or Camping on the Highfield campsite, which has showers and hot and cold water. There is also storage for bicycles. TARIFF
